Cheese Scones Savoury
Cemilan favorite setiap ada coffee & chat di St. John's krn pasti dari sana ada yang bikin cheesescones. Kebetulan saya merasa masih punya tenaga buat ngulenin adonan (hehehe...) jadilah cheesescones ini yang saya modifikasi dgn ditambah bacon dan beberapa bahan lain yang menghasilkan scones yang gurih...enyak.
3 cups Plain Flour ; 75 g butter
6 tsp baking powder ; 1/4 tsp salt ; 3/4 cup grated tasty cheese
1 to 1 1/2 cups milk, approximately extra milk
pinch of cayenne pepper and mustard
bacon, chopped small
Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Cut butter in until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add 3/4 cup grated cheese and pinch each of cayenne pepper and mustard.Add milk and mix quickly with a knife to soft dough. Knead a few times. Lightly dust an oven tray with flour. Press scones dough out onto this. Cut into 12 even-sized pieces. Leaved a 2 cm space between scones. Before baking top each scones with a small amount of grated cheese and bacon and then brush tops with milk. Bake at 220 C for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
